Casa Montanha-Mar
Situated almost in the centre of the 100 miles of sandy beaches and secluded rocky coves of the beautiful Algarve coastline (one of the most Southerly areas of Europe), this Villa can be reached by car from Faro Airport along the fast coastal road in under 1 hour.
The accommodation consists of a very large Lounge/Dining area, Fully Equipped Kitchen, 4 bedrooms (1 Double and 3 Twin rooms) all with en-suite facilities, plus one extra WC with basin. No Smoking is allowed in any of the Villa rooms.
The Villa stands in its own secluded grounds of almost 2 acres. There is a large private swimming pool, with a safe shallow end for young children.
Surrounding the pool is a large paved area, ideal for sunbathing on the padded sun-beds provided. In the garden there are fruit trees, oranges, lemons, and almonds, also grape vines and flowering shrubs. The Villa is also provided with a television and DVD player.
In addition to the Terrace around the Pool, there is a Terrace equipped with a Barbecue and a large Balcony across the front of the Villa offering Sea Views.
Just 3 kilometres along the coast road from the villa you will find the sea side town of Armacao de Pera. The beach here is smooth, clean sand, and it stretches for miles. The town is able to cater for all your needs, with its many shops, bars, restaurants and a daily (except Sundays) market selling fresh fruit, vegetables bread and fish. The food on offer ranges from a simple sardine lunch at a beach cafe, to Chinese, Indian, Italian or top quality traditional Portuguese meals served in the many restaurants.
If you should tire of the Villa, and the Pool, and the Sun-beds on the Terraces, and you want a change from the sea and the sand, why not get into your car with a map of the Algarve, and go exploring West along the coast to Portimao, Lagos, Sagres and Cape St. Vincent, which is as far West as you can go without falling into the Atlantic Ocean.
Or, if you like you can leave the coast and head for the hills. Drive up the winding roads, past the little Portuguese cottages, and the vines, the cork trees, olive trees and the orange groves. Up there you will find towns like Silves with its Cathedral and its Moorish Castle, built of warm red sandstone by the Arabs in the 11th Century.
If you climb high enough, you will find the Barragem, a dam built to store water for the orange groves! A little higher still is the tiny village of Monchique, perched on top of the Monchique Hills.
If golf is your game, then the four nearest golf courses are Salgados Golf Club at Praia de Gale, Vale de Milho Golf near Porches, with Gramacho Course and Pinta Course both near Lagoa.
In fact we doubt very much if you would have time to get bored during your stay at Casa Montanha-Mar. There are many activities in the area including watersports, cycling and horse-riding. The ‘Solear’ riding school is just a few hundred metres from the villa and offers lessons or rides, with prices in the region of 20€ per hour.
During your stay at the Villa. Bed Linen, Towels, Electric and Gas are inclusive. An automatic washing machine is also available for use by visitors.
